Shuttle Buses Arrive at Juba Airport/PHOTO CREDITS: South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority
(JUBA) – Juba International Airport has introduced shuttle bus services to move passengers between the terminal and aircraft, a step the airport leadership says will lift service standards at South Sudan’s main commercial gateway.
The buses are meant to replace the informal movement of travellers across the apron. They offer a fixed, sheltered transfer that airport managers say will improve safety, reliability and comfort for all arriving and departing passengers.
No fare structure was announced for the new service. Officials described it as part of a continuing programme to modernise airport operations and raise customer satisfaction at the country’s busiest entry point for business travellers, cargo and aid shipments.
The development places Juba alongside other regional airports that have adopted dedicated passenger buses to handle growing traffic. It comes at a time when South Sudan is working to attract private investment and improve the ease of doing business, with air transport links seen as vital to economic activity.
The leadership of the airport made the announcement through the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority. No cost was disclosed.
