(JUBA) – The Union of Journalists of South Sudan (UJOSS) has praised the Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) for recognising the important role of the media in helping the public understand the country’s move towards a digital banking system.
Speaking during a meeting at the Bank’s headquarters in Juba on Monday, UJOSS Secretary General Majak Daniel Kuany thanked the BoSS leadership for consistently engaging journalists in its outreach and awareness activities.
He said the Bank’s collaboration with media houses has allowed journalists to receive accurate and timely information on digital banking, enabling them to report with clarity and confidence.
Mr Kuany added that the partnership between BoSS and the media is vital for ensuring that the public understands the benefits of digital transactions, including faster payments, improved security, and financial transparency.
BoSS Governor Dr Addis Ababa Othow Akongdit commended journalists for their continued contribution to raising awareness on digital payments and financial inclusion. He encouraged media professionals to maintain high standards of accuracy and balance when reporting on economic matters.
The Bank’s Director General for Administration and Human Resources, David Manyuon Nak, also expressed appreciation to journalists for their role in informing the public about government and financial sector initiatives.
