(JUBA COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Juba County, Emmanuel Tete Ezbon, has called on residents of Juba County and Central Equatoria State to promote unity and to engage with organisations and investors through recognised legal processes in order to support orderly development.
The commissioner made the remarks during thanksgiving prayers and a luncheon held on Saturday at Somba Boma Village in honour of Chief Quirino Ladu Jada. The event brought together community leaders, traditional authorities, and local officials to discuss issues related to governance, cooperation, and development within the county.
In his address, Commissioner Ezbon said that communities should ensure that memoranda of understanding with organisations and investors are handled transparently and in line with the law. He noted that clear and lawful agreements help safeguard community interests and provide a framework for service delivery and shared benefits.
The commissioner stated that his office remains committed to supporting communities by reviewing and guiding partnerships to ensure they are fair and consistent with existing regulations. He said such an approach is intended to reduce disputes and to encourage development activities that are acceptable to all parties involved.
He also spoke about the role of traditional leaders, particularly chiefs, in maintaining social cohesion. According to the commissioner, chiefs are expected to bring communities together and to help resolve differences through dialogue, which supports peace and effective local administration.
Commissioner Ezbon concluded by encouraging cooperation among county authorities, community members, and institutions. He said that collaboration and adherence to the law are important for maintaining stability and for advancing development efforts across Juba County and Central Equatoria State.
The event was organised by the Press Unit of the Office of the Commissioner of Juba County and formed part of ongoing public engagements aimed at strengthening local governance and community relations in South Sudan.
