(Juba) – South Sudan Premier League club Jamus SC has released eight players as part of a squad overhaul ahead of the upcoming football season. Among those departing is Nigerian goalkeeper Victor Sochima, who previously played for Rivers United in Nigeria.
Sochima joined Jamus SC last summer with expectations of becoming a key figure in the team. However, he struggled to secure the first choice goalkeeper position during his time in Juba. The club has now decided to part ways with him as it makes changes to boost competitiveness for the new season.
Also leaving the club are Ichaka Diarra, Emmanuel Mvuyekure, Levi Daniel, Agumemboki Felix Abishai, Emmanuel Maku Michael, Silva Goah Nguany, and Joseph Kenyi.
The decision was confirmed by club management, who stated that the changes are intended to improve performance in domestic and regional competitions.
Jamus SC, one of the most prominent teams in the South Sudanese Premier League, recently attracted attention with several international signings and is now looking to further fine tune its squad.
No financial figures were made public, but such exits are standard in mid season squad restructuring.
The club has not yet announced all replacements for the released players but is expected to make new signings before the transfer window closes.
