(NAIROBI) – The Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in Kenya has launched a registration drive targeting South Sudanese business owners and investors operating in Kenya. The initiative is being led by the Embassy’s Trade and Investment Section, which aims to bring together businesses under a unified platform for improved coordination, support and representation.
According to a statement released by the Embassy, the goal of the registration campaign is to identify the sectors in which South Sudanese citizens are active in Kenya, understand the specific challenges they face, and work with relevant authorities to develop practical solutions.
The Embassy is also looking to enhance its collaboration with key institutions such as the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), while exploring new linkages between South Sudanese entrepreneurs and Kenyan companies, financial institutions and investors.
Among other areas of focus, the initiative is expected to assist businesses in completing company registration and compliance procedures, and to support their participation in trade exhibitions, investment forums and expos. The Embassy sees this as a step towards facilitating better integration of South Sudanese businesses into the Kenyan economic landscape.
As part of the process, the Embassy is planning to hold a general consultative meeting with interested South Sudanese business owners and investors. The meeting will provide a forum to discuss shared concerns, highlight opportunities and strengthen community level engagement.
Businesses are being asked to register by providing their company name, a point of contact, email and phone numbers, WhatsApp contact, and the business sector in which they operate. The information will be used to build a directory that enables the Embassy to tailor its support to the needs of the business community.
Details should be submitted to the Embassy’s Minister Plenipotentiary for Trade and Investment, Jacqueline N. Chole, through the following channels:

The Embassy said the registration process will help it serve the business community more effectively and contribute to the growth of South Sudanese enterprises, both within Kenya and beyond.
The registration campaign is part of broader economic diplomacy efforts being pursued by South Sudan’s diplomatic mission in Nairobi.
These include ongoing discussions with Kenyan institutions to provide financing opportunities to South Sudaneseowned businesses and support their participation in regional economic platforms.
Officials believe the initiative could also complement national priorities by increasing diaspora led investments and enabling stronger trade relations between South Sudan and its East African neighbours.
The Embassy has emphasised the importance of accurate and timely registration, calling on all eligible businesspeople to take part in the initiative as soon as possible.
