Beijing Juba Hotel Hosts RJMEC Plenary on Peace
(JUBA) – The Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) has invited members of the press to cover its 4th Extraordinary Plenary Meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, 7th October 2025, at the Beijing Juba Hotel.
The meeting is expected to bring together RJMEC members, representatives of the peace parties, and international partners to assess the current state of implementation of the Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS).
The RJMEC said the session will provide an opportunity to evaluate progress made under the peace deal and examine key challenges still facing the implementation process. The discussions will focus on the political and security developments in the country, including how far the transitional institutions have gone in meeting the key provisions of the agreement.
Officials from RJMEC also said the meeting will provide space for broader consultations with stakeholders on the way forward for South Sudan’s peace roadmap as the country moves towards completing the transition period.
The plenary is expected to start at 9:00 AM and will be attended by representatives of government, opposition groups, civil society, and the international community. Media houses have been invited to cover the event and report on the discussions and resolutions reached.
The RJMEC Secretariat has provided contact information for press inquiries through telephone number 0922 750 311 or its social media handle @RJMECsouthsudan. More information can be found on the RJMEC website at www.jmecsouthsudan.org.
The RJMEC monitors and evaluates the implementation of the 2018 peace agreement, which aims to bring lasting stability to South Sudan after years of conflict.
