Welcome to Access Radio

Access Radio is a community based radio station that creates programmes for the community, by the community, and about the community. Our mission is to give local people a voice, share important information, and help build an informed, educated, and empowered society across greater Yei counties and beyond.

Who We Are

Access Radio is part of the Community Media Initiative (CMI) – South Sudan, a local non-governmental organisation (NGO). We are officially registered with the South Sudan National Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) under Registration Certificate No. 3616. We are also recognised by the South Sudan Media Authority (Registration Certificate No. 0167) and the National Communications Authority (Registration No. 023) as a licensed community radio station.

Where We Broadcast

Access Radio broadcasts across the greater counties of Yei, Lainya, Morobo, and Kajo-Keji in Central Equatoria. We also reach neighbouring counties, states, and communities living along the borders of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Access Radio Yei is a democratic community media organization open to all South Sudanese citizens aged 18 and above who align with our vision and mission. We are proud to be affiliated with:

Funding and Financial Accountability

Our operations are funded through:

Membership contributions and subscription fees
Consultancy services
Donations and grants from individuals and organizations
Financial and in-kind support from local and international partners

All financial transactions are documented and conducted through banking systems for transparency and accountability. Our financial records are audited by reputable audit firms to ensure proper financial management.

Management Structure

ccess Radio Yei is governed by a structured management system to ensure smooth operations:

Board of Members – The highest governing body, consisting of registered members who meet annually to discuss reports and policies.
Board of Trustees – A legal and advisory body that provides oversight and meets quarterly to review management reports.
Operational Team – Comprising full-time staff and volunteers who run daily radio programs and report to the Board.

To maintain transparency, we have an independent account audited by qualified firms, ensuring accountability to our members, donors, and beneficiaries.
