(OPINION / ARCHBISHOP ELIAS TABAN PARANGI) –
Dear Lord Jesus,
On this blessed Palm Sunday, we come before You with hearts full of hope and gratitude. We lift up our President, H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, his Cabinet, and the entire government at all levels, asking for Your divine guidance and wisdom to lead our nation toward peace, unity, and prosperity.
As we celebrate Your triumphant entry into Jerusalem, we echo the cries of “Hosanna!” throughout South Sudan. May this proclamation resonate in every corner of our land, reminding us of the promise of salvation and the power of love and reconciliation.
Lord, we pray for strength and courage for our leaders as they navigate the challenges facing our nation. Grant them the vision to seek justice, the compassion to serve the people, and the humility to listen to the voices of all South Sudanese. May they work tirelessly to build a future where every citizen feels valued and heard.
We ask for Your blessings upon our communities, that we may come together in harmony, embracing our diversity as a source of strength. Help us foster an environment of peace, where every individual can thrive and contribute to the common good.
As we wave our palm branches in celebration, may we also commit ourselves to being agents of change, spreading love and hope in our families, neighborhoods, and beyond. Let us be a nation that reflects Your light and grace.
In Your holy name, we pray. Amen.
Hosanna in the highest! May peace reign in South Sudan.
— The Most Rev. Engineer Elias Taban Parangi
