Yei River County Pays Tribute to Former Paramount Chief

(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Yei River County Hon Emmanuel Taban Seme has sent a condolence message following the death of Mr Peter Said Morjan, a former Paramount Chief and former Head Chief of Yei Town Payam.

He passed away on Sunday at Yei Civil Hospital at around 4 in the afternoon.

Mr Morjan served as a traditional leader during the period of the former Yei River State. His passing was described by the Commissioner as a great loss to the community.

In his message, Commissioner Seme said he was deeply saddened by the news and extended his condolences to the family of the late chief on behalf of the county government and the people of Yei.

He said Mr Morjan would be remembered for his leadership and his role in promoting peace and development in the area. He praised him as a man of vision who devoted his life to serving the people.

The Commissioner said he prayed for strength for the relatives, colleagues and all residents of Yei River County during what he called a difficult time.

He ended his message by asking God to grant the late chief eternal rest.
