
Celebration of AMDISS Director’s award/Handout
(JUBA) – The media community in South Sudan gathered today to celebrate AMDISS Director Ms Ayaa Irene Lokang, who was recently named one of Africa’s 100 Most Influential Women.
The celebration was organised by the Female Journalists Network together with representatives from various media organisations. It took place at AMDISS headquarters in Juba to honour Ms Lokang for her award at the 4th African Women Awards held last week in Kigali, Rwanda.
This recognition places Ms Lokang among an elite group of African women leaders known as the “SHE Achievers Network,” highlighting her influence and achievements in media development.
The organisers expressed sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed directly or indirectly to the event, describing it as a colourful and memorable celebration.
An online statement stated the recognition is an indication of the growing impact of South Sudanese women in media and the role of AMDISS in supporting leadership, innovation and professional development in the sector.
