
Kakuwa Executive Order - Press Release
(JUBA) – The Kakuwa Community in the Republic of South Sudan has appointed two new deputy chairpersons to support its executive body in advancing unity, cultural preservation and community development.
The appointments were announced through an executive order issued on 27 October 2025 by the community’s chairperson, Mr. Dada Isaac Lemi.
According to the official statement titled Executive Order Number 01/2025, the appointments were made in accordance with sections 22(2), 22(4), and 26(5) of the Kakuwa Community Constitution of 2025, as amended.
Under the new leadership structure, Mr. Emmanuel Lubari Joseph will serve as Deputy Chairperson for Administration and Finance, while Mr. Joseph Luwaya Thamas has been appointed Deputy Chairperson for Policy and Programmes.
Mr. Lemi stated that the appointments are part of a broader plan to strengthen the administrative and policy framework of the Kakuwa Community, both within Juba and across other regions where members are based.
“These appointments are aimed at improving coordination and service delivery within our community structures,” said the chairperson. “We are working to promote cultural heritage, strengthen unity among members, and support initiatives that contribute to development.”
The Kakuwa Community, one of the prominent ethnic groups in Central Equatoria, has been actively engaged in cultural, social and educational programmes aimed at empowering its members.
The new deputies are expected to assist in implementing ongoing community projects, enhancing financial management and coordinating activities with other ethnic and national bodies.
The executive order was issued under the seal of the Kakuwa Community headquarters in Juba and copied to all appointees for immediate implementation.
