On behalf of all well wishers in the diaspora and friends of peace, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Kakuwa Community in South Sudan on the successful inauguration of the new Executive, held on 20 September 2025.
This event was more than a ceremony. It was proof that when we stand together, we are unshakable.
Although there were a few shortcomings, especially the absence of the former leadership, we choose to understand and appreciate the Community Organising Committee. This was the first time some of them were tasked with arranging such a gathering. It was a learning experience, and I believe future events will be even better.
To our newly inaugurated leaders:
+ Mr. Dada Isaac Lemi – Chairman
+ Mr. Sebit Nicholas – Secretary General
+ Ms. Yobu Joyce – Secretary of Finance
I urge you to carry out your responsibilities with humility and integrity.
Your focus should remain on unity and development, as these are the pillars that will carry our community forward. Keep away from those who act out of self interest and may try to influence you into wrong decisions. Leadership is not about serving personal agendas but about lifting the entire community.
Be a servant, not a boss. Remember that you were elected to serve voluntarily, not to rule over others. True leadership is grounded in humility, sacrifice and accountability.
Brothers and sisters, let us continue to embrace the spirit of togetherness. We may have differences, but we are bound by one heritage, one destiny and one future as the Kakuwa people. We are stronger together and nothing can shake us when we stand united.
May this new leadership chapter bring peace, prosperity, and development to our community, and may the Kakuwa spirit continue to shine as a light of hope for South Sudan.
Congratulations once again to the new Executive, and to the entire Kakuwa Community.
With pride and love for my people,
Batali Gabriel Modi
