(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – The Kakuwa Community Yei Sub Committee for Resource Mobilisation has concluded its second planning meeting in Yei, as preparations continue for a major youth, peace, and development conference in Central Equatoria State.
The meeting was held at the Yei Youths Association Office and focused on organising the upcoming Kakuwa Community Cabinet Introduction and Youth for Peace and Development Conference.
The committee is chaired by the Youths Association leader, Gaga Frank, who led discussions on strengthening cooperation between newly elected community leaders and young people.
Organisers said the planned two day conference will mark the launch of the Kakuwa Community 2026 Stability Roadmap, which aims to promote good governance and social cohesion.
They said the meeting will seek to improve dialogue between leaders and youth in Yei, Lainya, and Morobo counties, where community structures play a key role in peace building.
Following the latest session, the committee announced plans to hold a General Resource Mobilisation Meeting to support preparations for the conference.
The meeting is expected to bring together representatives from 11 payams across the three counties.
In Yei River County, participants will come from Yei Town, Otogo, Lasu, Tore, and Mugwo payams.
Morobo County will be represented by Gulumbi, Kimba, Lujulo, and Panyume payams.
Lainya County will send delegates from Kupera and Wuji payams.
Organisers said the consultations are meant to ensure broad community participation and equal representation.
They added that the process will help build a foundation for long term peace, development, and accountable leadership in the region.
The committee said dates and venues for the conference and related meetings will be announced later.
