(YEI, CENTRAL EQUATORIA STATE) – The Yei Sub Organising Committee of the Kakuwa Community has held its third planning meeting in Yei as part of preparations for the Community Cabinet Introduction and Youth for Peace and Development Conference scheduled for 2026.
The meeting brought together representatives from 11 payams in Yei, Lainya, and Morobo counties, along with community elders and local leaders.
Organisers said the gathering aimed to strengthen coordination among payams and review progress in preparations for the conference.
Community elders expressed support for the current leadership and welcomed the initiative to hold the conference.
Representatives and elders also confirmed their willingness to contribute to the event in line with the proposed budget and resource plan.
Participants said the meeting helped to improve cooperation between the central organising committee and local leadership structures across the three counties.
Organisers said the conference is intended to serve as a platform for launching the Kakuwa Community 2026 Stability Roadmap.
They said the programme seeks to improve community governance by strengthening cooperation between newly elected leaders and youth groups.
The committee announced that the next planning meeting will be held on Wednesday, 11 February 2026.
Officials said the next session will focus on presenting specific responsibilities and contributions for each payam under the resource mobilisation plan.
The Secretary of the Yei Sub Committee, Isaac Mamur Scopas, thanked community leaders and elders for their continued support.
He said their participation is important for promoting peace, development, and social cohesion within the Kakuwa community in Central Equatoria State.
