(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – The Chairperson of the Yei River County Youth Association, Frank Gaga Justine, has called on leaders at community, county and state levels to urgently implement resolutions from the recently concluded Kakwa Youth Peace Conference in Yei town.
The two-day conference, organized last week by the Kakwa community, brought together more than 300 community delegates from Morobo County, Lainya County and Yei River Counties respectively. Discussions at the forum focused on issues among which include youth empowerment, peace building, socio-economic empowerment, education, political manipulation and strengthening unity between young people and elders across the three counties.
Speaking to Access Radio on Tuesday , Gaga emphasized the need for collective action to address the challenges facing youth and the wider community.
“The resolutions passed and signed by representatives from the state government, county authorities, Kakwa community leadership, youth and women leaders must now be implemented,” he said. “We must work together to ensure these resolutions bring about positive change in the community.”
According to Gaga, key resolutions from the conference include initiatives on youth empowerment, scholarships, employment opportunities, as well as efforts to enhance peace, security, unity and poverty reduction mechanisms through economic production.
He stressed that meaningful progress will depend on the commitment of all stakeholders to translate the agreed resolutions into concrete action.
