(JUBA) – The South Sudanese Pound (SSP) has slightly weakened against major currencies, according to the latest official exchange rates released by the Bank of South Sudan on Tuesday, 5 August 2025.
The US Dollar is now selling at SSP 4,594.73, up from SSP 4,588.09 on Monday. The Euro rose to SSP 5,314.73 and the British Pound to SSP 6,109.16, reflecting growing demand for foreign currencies in the local market.

Analysts say the slow depreciation signals ongoing pressure on the economy, driven by import costs and limited hard currency supply.
