(JUBA) – The governments of Central Equatoria State and Jonglei State have completed a joint governance exchange initiative aimed at building stronger cooperation, promoting unity and improving administrative performance between the two states.
The week long programme was hosted in Juba by Lt. Gen. Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, Governor of Central Equatoria State, following a request from Dr. Riak Gai Kok, Governor of Jonglei State.
It focused on sharing experiences in public administration, cabinet management and intergovernmental coordination.
According to organisers, the initiative provided an opportunity for senior officials from Jonglei State to learn about Central Equatoria’s approach to governance, including cabinet procedures, policy formulation and coordination among government clusters.
Governor Mujung welcomed the visiting delegation and commended their commitment to strengthening state institutions. He encouraged them to apply the knowledge gained to improve governance and service delivery in Jonglei:
“The spirit of cooperation between our two states shows the importance of unity and shared learning in building a strong and peaceful South Sudan,” the Governor said.
He pledged continued support for similar inter-state exchange programmes that enhance public sector efficiency and teamwork.
Deputy Governor Paulino Lukudu Obede, who oversaw the training sessions, said he was confident that Jonglei officials would make practical use of the experience gained in Juba. He described the initiative as a positive example of collaboration among state governments.
Hon. Lupai Satimon Andrew, Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Central Equatoria State, said the exercise served as a “study tour” to promote closer relations and mutual understanding.
“This engagement is meant to strengthen unity and deepen cooperation between our institutions,” he said.
Hon. Kuony Yien Nyuon, Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Jonglei State and head of the visiting delegation, thanked the Central Equatoria leadership for their hospitality and guidance. He said the lessons learned would help Jonglei improve planning, coordination and service delivery to citizens.
According to the Central Equatoria Press Unit CESGPU, the governance exchange programme is part of a growing national effort to improve administrative capacity and promote knowledge sharing among South Sudan’s state governments.
