(JUBA) – Mapula Bodibe, Chief Executive Officer of MTN South Sudan visited Rabi Mujung Emmanuel, Governor of Central Equatoria State on Thursday in a visit the governor’s office said was aimed to strengthen cooperation between MTN and the state government.
Bodibe congratulated Governor Mujung on his recent appointment and discussed ways the company can work with the state to improve telecom services. She also touched on MTN’s commitment to social responsibility and serving communities without network coverage.
Several government leaders joined the meeting, including the State Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment Hon. Salah Rajab Bunduki, Minister of Trade and Industry Hon. Stephen Lado Onesimo, Minister of Information and Communication Hon. Nyarsuk Patrick, Minister of Housing, Lands and Public Utilities Hon. David Morbe, and the Commissioner General of the State Revenue Authority Hon. Moses Idoru.
The discussions focused on improving service delivery, expanding MTN network coverage and finding ways for the state and company to work together to benefit local communities. Both sides pledged to cooperate closely to ensure telecom services reach more people across Central Equatoria State.
Governor Mujung welcomed MTN’s CEO and her team, thanking them for the visit. He encouraged MTN to maintain strong ties with state institutions, including the Ministry of Information and Communication, to provide better services for citizens.
He said the government is ready to create a good environment for investment and partnership. The Governor also stressed that working together with private companies is important for improving livelihoods and promoting development.
