Finance Ministry to Improve Revenue Collections and Management

(JUBA) – The Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Dr. Bak Barnaba Chol, on Thursday met with a delegation from the South Sudan Revenue Authority (SSRA) led by the Commissioner General, Hon. William Anyuon Kuol, to discuss strategies aimed at strengthening tax collection and enhancing domestic revenue mobilization across the country. The high-level meeting focused on expanding the national revenue base, modernizing the tax administration and collection systems, and sealing loopholes that undermine effective revenue generation among institutions mandated to collect public funds. Discussions also emphasized improving compliance, strengthening institutional coordination, and enhancing transparency and accountability in revenue management to support the government’s fiscal stability and development agenda. The meeting was attended by the First Undersecretary for Finance, Hon. Kuol Daniel Ayulo; SSRA Deputy Commissioner General, Moses Rou Ayii; Commissioners from SSRA; and policy advisors from the Office of the Minister.
