Subject: South Sudan’s 14th Independence Anniversary – 9th July 2011
To all citizens of South Sudan, both at home and in the diaspora,
On this momentous occasion of South Sudan’s Independence Day, as we come together to celebrate the hard won freedom and sovereignty of our nation, let us take time to reflect on our journey, honour the sacrifices of our ancestors and look ahead with hope and determination.
As we mark the 14th anniversary of our independence, we must remember the many struggles and obstacles we have faced in order to reach this milestone. The road to freedom was built on resilience, unity and unwavering courage. We pay tribute to the heroes who fought for our liberty, and the citizens who remained steadfast in the face of adversity.
Today, we not only celebrate our independence, but also the progress we have made as a young nation. Despite the continuing challenges that test our resolve, we have demonstrated determination and resilience in striving to build a better future for all South Sudanese.
As we stand at this pivotal point in our history, let us renew our commitment to unity, peace and prosperity. Together, we can overcome any obstacle and build a path towards a brighter tomorrow.
May this Independence Day serve as a reminder of the power of collective action, the strength found in our diversity and the promise of a nation united by purpose and vision. Let us continue to work for a South Sudan where freedom, justice and equality prevail.
Thank you for being part of this celebration, whether within the country or in the diaspora. May the spirit of independence guide us as we move forward toward a future filled with hope, opportunity and prosperity.
