(JUBA) – Nine South Sudanese citizens are set to travel to India to take part in specialised training courses under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation programme, known as ITEC. The Embassy of India in Juba announced the development, describing the training as part of ongoing cooperation between the two countries.
The selected participants will attend courses in areas including cocoon technology, entrepreneurship and the use of technology in agriculture.
The training will take place at accredited institutions in India. Embassy officials say the aim is to equip the trainees with practical skills that can support development activities in their respective fields when they return to South Sudan.
The ITEC programme is an initiative of the Government of India that supports capacity building for partner countries across the Global South. It provides training, academic exchange and professional development to help strengthen national institutions and local expertise.
The Embassy of India said the programme is an example of cooperation based on mutual respect and shared development goals. It encouraged the participants to share their knowledge with colleagues and institutions at home following their training.

The Embassy wished the group success and said it looks forward to continued cooperation in education, skills development and people to people exchange between India and South Sudan.
