(JUBA) – The South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority will appear on national television for a public discussion aimed at increasing awareness of aviation safety, passenger care and career opportunities in the sector.
The talk show will be broadcast on South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) on Tuesday 11 November at 4:30 pm.
The programme is titled Public Safety Awareness and Aviation Opportunities. It is part of a broader effort by the Civil Aviation Authority to encourage responsible use of airport facilities, improve public understanding of airline travel procedures and introduce young South Sudanese to the range of professional roles available in aviation.
The panel will include Hon. John Woja Elinana, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. David Loputu Paulino, the Public Relations and Communications Manager and Mr. Paul Bith Mading, the Deputy Public Relations Manager. SSBC presenter Emmanuel Sebit will moderate the discussion.
The Civil Aviation Authority said improved public awareness is important as passenger numbers continue to rise at Juba International Airport and other airfields.
The Authority added that increased travel demands stronger cooperation between air operators, airport staff and passengers to ensure safe and efficient services.
An official announcement also said the aviation industry offers various opportunities for training and employment, including air traffic services, airport security, ground handling, aviation engineering and airline customer service.
The Authority said that national institutions and private training partners are working to expand access to skills development.
The discussion also aims to help the public understand what actions contribute to safe travel environments, such as respecting airport security procedures, carrying proper identification and reporting unusual activity.
The Authority noted that small improvements in public awareness can lead to a more reliable and comfortable travel experience.
The Civil Aviation Authority encouraged members of the public, students, government employees and private sector actors to watch the broadcast and take part in future engagement programmes.
