(MOROBO COUNTY) – Morobo County is set to host a football and youth engagement visit aimed at promoting peace, unity and youth participation through sport. Morobo All Stars Football Club from Juba, together with members of the Morobo Football Association Juba Chapter, will arrive in the county on 15 January 2026 for a series of activities focused on community development and sports growth.
The visit is organised under the theme of peace, unity and youth engagement and is expected to bring together young people, local football clubs and community leaders in Morobo town. Organisers say the programme is designed to use football as a tool to strengthen social ties and encourage positive involvement among youth in the county.
Key activities planned during the visit include friendly football matches between visiting and local teams, youth and club leadership discussions, football association orientation sessions and talent identification. Community interaction and awareness activities will also take place, with messages centred on peaceful coexistence and teamwork.
According to the organisers, the objectives of the visit include engaging directly with local youth and football clubs, strengthening football structures and leadership at county level, and building cooperation with county authorities and community partners. The programme also aims to support sports development while encouraging unity in a county that has a strong youth population.
The activities will run from 15 January to 30 January 2026, allowing time for interaction across different groups and locations within Morobo County. Local youth leaders are expected to work closely with the visiting team to ensure broad participation and community ownership of the programme.
Morobo All Stars Football Club, founded in 2023 and known by the slogan “Soaring Like Eagles”, is taking part alongside the Morobo Football Association. Organisers say the presence of both club and association leaders will help young players better understand football structures, discipline and opportunities within the sport.
The organisers believe that football remains a powerful platform for peace building in South Sudan, particularly at the community level. Through bringing together youth, sports leaders and local authorities, the initiative aims to support social cohesion and offer young people constructive activities.
Residents of Morobo County have been encouraged to attend the matches and engagement sessions to support youth development and community unity. Organisers say the success of the visit will depend on active participation and cooperation from all stakeholders.
