
Nine Teams Aim for Morobo County Championship/The Cross Border Lines Photo
(MOROBO COUNTY) – A community football tournament marking Christmas celebrations has begun in Morobo County, Central Equatoria State, with nine youth teams taking part. The event kicked off on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, and the winning team will be crowned on Christmas Day.
Organisers say the competition is aimed at encouraging unity and peaceful interaction among young people in Morobo County. The tournament brings together teams from different parts of the county, giving many young players a chance to showcase their talent.
The teams have been placed into two groups as shown below:

Community members say events like this help promote peace, especially as South Sudan continues efforts to strengthen stability and development.
The final match will be played on December 25th, when one team will take home the Christmas trophy.
