(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO), a leading national civil society organization in South Sudan in partnership with the African Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF) has concluded a one-day training for women farmers in Yei River County on Tuesday.
The training also touched topics on human rights and measures on reducing barriers affecting women in accessing productive resources at the local level.
Bidal Pert a project team leader, said the specific objectives of the training aimed at educating farmers on the root causes of human rights violations and gender-based violence (GBV), and their impact on agriculture, to identify and address barriers preventing women farmers from accessing productive resources and to empower farmers with advocacy skills for improved resource accessibility.
Several beneficiaries who attended the training sessions, appreciated CEPO for involving women farmers to understand topics on human rights and protection and economic empowerment opportunities through agriculture.
The participants called on CEPO-South Sudan to conduct more trainings for rural women farmers in all the five Payams and Bomas of Yei River County.
