Hon. Okuba was reappointed and installed by the State Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement for Central Equatoria State (CES), Hon. Leo Abe, during a ceremony held at the County Freedom Square in Marakaji, attended by thousands of residents.
In his remarks, the Commissioner expressed gratitude to President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony for renewing his mandate. He emphasized the importance of collective responsibility, urging chiefs, youth, women, and other stakeholders to work together in humility to serve the people of Morobo.
Hon. Okuba outlined six priority areas for his new term: improving security, boosting agriculture, strengthening education, enhancing healthcare services, developing infrastructure, and upgrading the county’s airstrip.
Representing the state government, Hon. Leo Abe encouraged residents to embrace peace in line with the 2026 government agenda. He commended the people of Morobo for their resilience and assured them of continued government support through the Commissioner’s leadership.
The event was also attended by the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) from neighboring Koboko District in Uganda, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Uganda and the Republic of South Sudan.
The large turnout at the ceremony reflected strong public support for the Commissioner as he embarks on his second term.
