(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, has urged Christians and worshippers in Yei to continue praying for lasting peace, saying stability is essential for development and community recovery across Greater Yei.
Speaking to the congregation at the Episcopal Diocese of Yei on Sunday, Governor Adil stressed that peace remains the foundation for progress and reconstruction in the region.
“Let us continue to pray for peace so that development can take its course in Yei,” Governor Adil told the worshippers.
The governor explained that his visit to Greater Yei forms part of a wider tour of counties across Central Equatoria State. According to a statement posted on his official Facebook page, the tour is being conducted under the directive of President Salva Kiir Mayardit to assess conditions and engage with communities throughout the state.
Governor Adil said the initiative aims to provide an opportunity for state leaders to listen to residents, address their concerns, and identify key priorities and development needs within local communities.
The visit underscores the state government’s commitment to strengthening engagement with citizens and supporting efforts aimed at promoting peace, recovery, and sustainable development across Central Equatoria State.
