(BENTIU, UNITY STATE) – Health services in Mayom County require urgent improvements in medical supplies, staffing, power and water supply, officials heard during a visit to Mayom County Hospital.
The assessment came as Unity State Governor Joseph Nguen Manytuil toured the facility together with the State Minister of Health, Jal Puok.
The visit allowed officials to inspect a newly expanded area of the hospital land. The expansion followed a directive from the Governor aimed at creating additional space for health infrastructure and future development.
During the tour, the delegation met hospital management, medical workers and patients.
Key concerns raised at the facility included a shortage of adequate medical equipment and essential drugs, the need for more staff, infrastructure improvement, secure management of government and patient records, and a reliable supply of power and water for critical services.
The Governor and Health Minister were in Mayom County to assess ongoing service delivery at the hospital.
The Ministry of Health in Unity State extended appreciation to the Governor for his leadership, to the hospital administration and staff for their continued service to the people of Mayom, and to the community for their reception.
