The Yei River County Youth Association officially launched the project at a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday.
The event brought together government officials, development partners, landlords, local chiefs, and representatives of youth, women and persons with disabilities.
The Chairperson of the Youth Association, Mr Gaga Frank Justin, described the centre as a milestone investment. He said it would provide young people with opportunities for leadership, skills development, innovation, peacebuilding and socioeconomic empowerment.
He thanked all partners and stakeholders for their support and called for continued collaboration to ensure the successful completion of the project.

The project is supported by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan and implemented by the Support for Peace and Education Development Program.
The facility will include a conference hall, a three-room office block, a VIP toilet block and a kitchen block. Internet connectivity and solar power will also be installed at the centre.
