(JUBA) – Stanbic Bank South Sudan has given three steel filing cabinets to the Central Equatoria Ministry of General Education to help with office work and recordkeeping.
The handover took place on 6 August 2025 at the ministry’s offices in Juba. The bank’s Head of Operations, Mach Ghai, and Business Manager, Oketa Sisto, delivered the cabinets to the Minister of General Education, Hon. Ciricio Zackaria Lado, and the Director General, Peter Lado.
The cabinets, which have sliding doors and shelves inside, will make it easier for the ministry to store and organise documents. Most government offices in South Sudan still rely on paper files and need proper equipment to manage their records.
Stanbic Bank said the donation shows its wider commitment to supporting education and building strong institutions in the country. “We believe in working together with government institutions. By giving out items we no longer need, we can help where they are still useful,” the bank said in a statement on Linkedin.
Even though the donation may look small, officials said it will make a big difference. Many ministries in South Sudan lack basic office furniture and supplies, which slows down their work.
The Ministry of Education welcomed the support, calling it an example of good partnership between government and private companies.
Stanbic Bank said it will continue to support schools and public offices in South Sudan where resources are limited.
