(Juba) – Stanbic Bank South Sudan has announced that all Visa cardholders regardless of the country of issuance can now withdraw United States Dollars (USD) at selected Stanbic Bank ATMs across the country. The move is expected to boost access to foreign currency and ease cash withdrawal challenges for both residents and visitors in the country.
According to a public notice from the bank, Visa cards issued by any bank in the world are now accepted at designated Stanbic ATM locations, allowing customers to withdraw USD directly.
The ATMs with this functionality are currently located at key points in Juba. These include the Zain Headquarters in Gudele, Rainbow Hotel on American Embassy Road, UAP Equatoria Tower in Hai Malakal, West Yat Building along Airport Road, and the UNDP Compound on Ministries Road.
This service is especially helpful to international visitors, diplomats, aid workers, business travellers, and returning South Sudanese who often face difficulties accessing hard currency once inside the country.
The bank did not state whether the new service will include withdrawal fees or the daily withdrawal limits, but the development is part of a wider effort to modernize banking services in South Sudan and improve financial inclusion.
Stanbic Bank is among the few banks in the country that provide direct USD services to clients through ATMs, making it a preferred option for those in need of foreign currency for travel, business, or remittances.
The announcement comes at a time when the demand for foreign exchange remains high and access to US Dollars is often limited through official banking channels.
