(JUBA) – South Sudan and Pakistan have discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation through investments in key economic sectors, including sugar production, pharmaceuticals, and industrial development.
Pakistan’s Minister of Trade and Industry, H.E. Basit Saleem Shah, met with South Sudan’s Caretaker Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Dr. Labanya Margaret Mathya, met in Juba on Wednesday to explore areas of mutual economic interest.
The meeting focused on expanding trade relations and attracting investment opportunities that could support industrial growth and economic development in South Sudan.
According to officials, the discussions highlighted potential cooperation in sugar production, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and other industrial sectors aimed at boosting production, creating jobs, and enhancing trade ties between the two countries.
The engagement reflects ongoing efforts by South Sudan to attract foreign investment and strengthen economic partnerships that contribute to national development.
