(JUBA) – The trial proceedings involving opposition leader Dr Riek Machar were adjourned this morning after government prosecutors requested additional time to submit their response to objections raised by his defence team.
The court granted the request, moving the hearing to tomorrow morning at 9:00am.
Details of the defence objections have not yet been made public, but the case continues to draw significant national attention given its national political and security implications.
Legal observers in Jub say today’s adjournment has shown the complexity of the proceedings, with both sides expected to present firm arguments when the case resumes.
More updates will follow as information becomes available.
