Lainya Gets New Hope as Aggrey Jaden Memorial Secondary School Opens

(LAINYA COUNTY) – Residents of Lainya County have welcomed a major boost to education following the commissioning of the Aggrey Jaden Memorial Secondary School on Saturday.

Speaking during the launch ceremony, Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding access to education, describing the completion and operation of the school as one of the key priorities under the state’s education agenda.

Governor Adil said efforts are underway to ensure the school becomes fully operational by next year, adding that the government will recruit qualified teachers to serve at the institution.

He appealed to the sons and daughters of Lainya County to take part in the recruitment process and contribute to the growth and development of education in their community.

Meanwhile, Lainya County Commissioner Huda Mica Laila called on the state government to accelerate the completion of the remaining construction works to allow the school to start admitting students next year.

She noted that the lack of a fully functional secondary school has forced many students from Lainya to travel to neighbouring counties to sit their final examinations, creating additional challenges for learners and families.

Commissioner Huda also appealed for the construction of additional classrooms and an administration block to support the school’s future operations.

State authorities reiterated their commitment to improving access to quality education and ensuring that students in Lainya County can complete their secondary education within their own community.

The commissioning of Aggrey Jaden Memorial Secondary School is expected to ease access to secondary education and provide new opportunities for learners across Lainya County.
