Yei Day Secondary School Opens New Classrooms

(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – A new classroom block at Yei Day Senior Secondary School has been completed, providing improved learning spaces for students and supporting the school’s growing population. The facility was inspected on Monday by the Commissioner of Yei River County, Hon. Emmanuel Taban Seme, who praised the development for its contribution to education in the county.

Speaking during the visit, Commissioner Taban said, “These new classrooms are a clear investment in our students’ future. They will provide a better environment for learning and allow more young people to access quality education.”

He encouraged students to continue working hard, adding, “I am proud of the discipline shown by all the candidates during their Senior Four examinations. Use this opportunity, focus on your studies, and I am confident you will pass with flying colours.”

The block is part of wider efforts to improve education infrastructure across Yei River County. Teachers and school staff expressed optimism about the benefits of the modern classrooms. One teacher, Ms. Agnes Lado, said, “These classrooms are a big improvement. They give students space to learn comfortably, and it will make teaching much easier for us.”

A Senior Four student said, “It feels good to study in a proper classroom. We have more space and can concentrate better. I hope more facilities like this will be built in our school.”

The visit also coincided with the ongoing Senior Four national examinations. Commissioner Taban commended the candidates for their focus and positive conduct.
