
AU Delegation Touches Down in South Sudan’s Capital/Foreign Affairs Portal
(JUBA) – The African Union Peace and Security Council (PSC) delegation arrived in Juba on Sunday, marking the start of a series of high level meetings with senior South Sudanese leaders.
The team was welcomed at Juba International Airport by Ambassador Kureng Pac, Director General for Multilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The visit is part of the African Union’s continuing support for South Sudan’s stability, peacebuilding efforts and the broader peace process.
Also arriving in the capital on the same day was H.E. Malik Agar, Deputy Chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council. He was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Ambassador Monday Semaya K. Kumba.
The AU delegation will engage with government officials to discuss progress on implementing the peace agreement and strengthening security cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Sudanese visit aims to deepen bilateral relations, with expected talks on cross border trade, peacebuilding and regional cooperation.
