(Juba, CESGPU) – Leaders of the Pojulu Community have met with Central Equatoria State Governor Lt. Gen. Rabi Mujung Emmanuel in Juba, calling for urgent action on insecurity, land grabbing and the uncontrolled movement of cattle in their villages.
The meeting which took place on Friday was led by Hon. Dr. Martin Elia Lomuro, Chairperson of the Pojulu Community.
He delivered a message of congratulations and appreciation on behalf of the community to President Salva Kiir Mayardit for appointing Gen. Mujung as Governor of Central Equatoria State.
Governor Mujung thanked the Pojulu leadership for their support and stressed his commitment to working with all communities in the state to tackle public concerns. He said collaboration between citizens and the government is key to peace, security and development.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Mr. Lole Laila Lole, Deputy Chairperson of the Pojulu Community, praised the Governor for making time to meet them. He described the discussions as productive and confirmed the community’s readiness to work closely with the state leadership.
“Our intention is to stand with the Governor as the leader of Central Equatoria and deliver our message through our community’s Chairperson,” said Laila.
During the meeting, the Pojulu leaders raised serious concerns affecting their areas. They included rising insecurity, illegal land occupation and cattle roaming freely through villages, damaging crops and threatening livelihoods.
Mujung acknowledged the community’s concerns and gave assurances that his administration will take firm action to address the issues raised. He reiterated his openness to continued dialogue with all communities to ensure stability and development throughout Central Equatoria.
