(YEI) – The Commissioner of Yei River County, Hon. Emmanuel Taban Seme, returned to Yei Town, commonly referred to as “Small London” on Friday, following a meeting with the Governor of Central Equatoria State, H.E. Lt. Gen. Rabi Mujung Emmanuel.
The meeting took place earlier this week and addressed major issues affecting the people of Yei River County, with a particular focus on the ongoing security situation and efforts to stabilise the area.
Upon his return, Commissioner Taban was received at the Yei Airstrip by the County Executive Director, Mr Hilary John Konga.
Mr Konga provided a comprehensive briefing to the Commissioner on the current security climate within the county, which he described as calm and returning to normal.
Mr. Taban is expected to resume his official duties in the county offices without delay in operations aimed at maintaining stability and responding to community concerns.
Yei River County has seen years of conflict but is is gradually rebuilding its administrative and security structures in line with national efforts.
The local administration has not disclosed specific decisions made during the meeting with the governor, but sources suggest discussions touched on local and state matters of interest.
The office of the Commissioner has indicated that further updates may be provided in the coming weeks as new initiatives are rolled out.
