Governor Adil Leads Cross-Border Peace Mission to Kajo-Keji

(JUBA / KAJO-KEJI) -Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony has travelled to Kajo-Keji County to lead a high-level government delegation in a two-day cross-border peace and security meeting with Ugandan officials from the neighbouring West Nile Region.

The talks come after a recent standoff involving the Uganda People’s Defence Forces and the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces, which led to the displacement of thousands of civilians in Kajo-Keji amid ongoing border disputes.

According to state authorities, the discussions will focus on strengthening security cooperation through joint patrols, information sharing, and finding peaceful solutions to territorial disagreements and civilian disputes along the South Sudan-Uganda border.

Governor Adil is also expected to assess the situation of displaced families in Kajo-Keji and coordinate humanitarian support aimed at restoring stability in affected communities.

As part of the visit, the governor will travel to Uganda’s Arua District for meetings with local authorities from Moyo, Yumbe, Adjumani, and Koboko districts to enhance cross-border collaboration, civilian protection, trade and peaceful coexistence between neighboring communities.

The governor and his delegation were seen off at Juba International Airport by Deputy Governor Paulino Lukudu Obede, Juba City Mayor Christopher Sarafino Wani Swaka, and other senior state officials.
