CES Cabinet Approves SSP 94 Billion Budget Ceiling to Boost Service Delivery

(JUBA) – The Central Equatoria State Council of Ministers has approved spending ceilings exceeding 94 billion South Sudanese Pounds for the 2026/2027 fiscal year, in a move aimed at enhancing the delivery of essential public services across the state.

The approval was made during an extraordinary cabinet session chaired by Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony on Tuesday, following the presentation of a memorandum on revenue projections and budget allocations by the State Minister of Finance, Planning and Investment, Janet Aya Alex.

According to the Council, the spending ceilings will guide the preparation of the upcoming state budget and set expenditure limits for all government ministries, departments, and agencies during the next financial year.

The cabinet endorsed the proposed allocations with some amendments and authorised the Ministry of Finance to begin the administrative processes required for implementation.

As part of the next steps, the Ministry of Finance has been directed to issue circulars to all spending agencies, outlining the approved ceilings and providing guidance for the preparation of budgets within the approved limits.

State authorities say the budget framework is expected to strengthen planning and improve the delivery of key public services across Central Equatoria State.
