JUBA—South Sudan Athletics Federation (SSAF) has set November 27–29, 2026, for the fourth edition of the Athletics Republican Championships as it prepares for a busy calendar of competitions and elections.
The dates were announced following an ordinary meeting of the SSAF Executive Board held Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Sunrise Hotel in Juba, according to federation spokesperson Lino Garang Mayen.
The board also resolved to begin the federation’s electoral process, directing member state athletics associations to hold their electoral general assemblies between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31, 2026.
The state-level elections will pave the way for the SSAF elective general assembly, which has been scheduled for Jan. 5–6, 2027.
As part of the resolutions, the board formed a seven-member finance committee headed by Jen Ehoza to oversee financial matters within the federation.
Garang said the resolutions adopted at the meeting would guide the federation’s activities in the coming months.
The fourth Athletics Republican Championships will bring together athletes from across South Sudan for the national competition in November.
