(YEI RIVER COUNTY) – Football fans in Yei are preparing for one of the most anticipated matches of the year, as Yei Joint Stars FC and Erap Tigers FC face off in the South Sudan Cup Finals on Saturday, 1st November 2025, at Yei Freedom Square.
The Yei Football Association confirmed that the grand final will begin with a special performance by local artist Young Boy the Best Boy, who will officially open the event. The association has invited the public to attend and witness what promises to be a thrilling contest between two of the strongest football clubs in the region.
According to the organisers, the match will not only celebrate sporting excellence but also aim to strengthen community spirit through football. Fans have been encouraged to turn out in large numbers to support their teams and enjoy a day of excitement, entertainment, and unity.

In related matches played on Friday, 31st October, City Stars FC (Women) won the third-place playoff of the Women’s South Sudan Cup after defeating Rockland FC (Women) in a penalty shootout. The game ended 1-1 in normal time, with City Stars triumphing 4-3 on penalties.
A. Kaluba opened the scoring for City Stars in the third minute, while J. Night equalised for Rockland FC in the 76th minute before the match went to penalties. The victory earned City Stars the bronze medal position in this year’s women’s tournament.
