(JUBA) – The Ministry of Trade and Industry has launched a new website to help traders, investors and the public get easier access to information and services. The event took place in Juba on Friday, 31 October 2025.
The launch was led by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang, together with the Undersecretary, Ustaz Yel Luol, and Director Generals from the Ministry’s departments. Also present were representatives from Target Media, the company that built the new website.
According to Jakony.com, South Sudan’s largest business news website, the online platform is expected to improve communication between the government and the private sector and make trade information more accessible both locally and abroad.
In her speech, Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang thanked the Ministry’s staff for their hard work in completing the project. She said the new website is an important step in helping the Ministry serve the business community better and improve transparency.
She added that the website should be treated as a shared service for the Ministry and not as a personal platform. The Minister encouraged staff to keep the site updated every day so that traders and investors can always find current information.
Undersecretary Ustaz Yel Luol also praised Target Media for their effort and called on the website management team to make sure the platform stays active. He said many websites fail because they are not maintained after launch and urged the team to avoid that mistake.
Technical Advisor Mr. Simon Nyang Anei said the website will be a key link between the Ministry and the business community. He explained that the platform will allow traders and investors to easily find information about trade policies, export rules, and investment opportunities in South Sudan.
The Ministry said the launch of the website is part of its plan to modernise public services and encourage more investment in the country.
