Yei Referee Banned for Three Months/CREDITS: Yei Football Association
(YEI COUNTY) – A football referee in Yei River County has been suspended for three months after failing to follow match regulations during a women’s league fixture, local officials said.
The action follows a review of a match between Rockland Women FC and Black O4 Women FC played on 13 April 2026. Authorities found that the referee did not observe the required waiting period before postponing the game and failed to submit an official report after the decision.
The Yei Football Association confirmed that Referee Bosco Khamis has been barred from all refereeing duties with immediate effect. The suspension will last for three months and applies to all football related activities under the association.
Officials said the decision was taken in line with the South Sudan Football Federation general regulations, which require match officials to follow set procedures in cases of delays or disruptions. The referee’s actions were judged to be a breach of these rules.
During the suspension period, the referee is not allowed to officiate matches, attend refereeing courses or represent the association in any capacity. The affected match will be rescheduled by the organising committee in accordance with the regulations.
The association said the referee has the right to appeal the decision within seven days of receiving the ruling.
Yei Football Association said it remains committed to maintaining discipline, fairness and respect for the rules of the game. It added that all match officials are expected to carry out their duties in full compliance with established guidelines.
