(YEI RIVER COUNTY)– Juma David Augustine, a popular former commissioner of Yei River County and a former Central Equatoria State minister of Finance, has on Sunday announced his candidature to contest as a National Member of Parliament under the SPLM Party ticket representing Lasu and Tore Payams of West Yei Constituency Geographical Area Number 07.
According to campaign materials released on October 11, Hon. Augustine has outlined three key campaign priorities: servant leadership, effective representation, and promoting unity across West Yei. His campaign message emphasizes listening to community concerns, delivering services and advocating for the interests of constituents at the national level.
The announcement also indicates that registration form collection is scheduled to begin on October 12, with a detailed manifesto expected to be released in the coming days.
Hon. Augustine’s campaign slogan, “Together for a Better West Yei,” highlights a call for unity and community-driven development ahead of the 2026 elections.
As South Sudan prepares for the upcoming polls, more candidates are expected to declare their intentions to contest various parliamentary and local government positions across the country.
