Promotion Unlocks Free Internet Data from MTN South Sudan

(Juba) – MTN South Sudan has launched a new promotional campaign offering 150MB of free data to its users as a token of appreciation. The offer is available to all MTN subscribers who dial the short code *100*4*2#, with the free internet valid until midnight on the day of activation.

The campaign, titled “Shukran” – meaning “Thank you” – is MTN’s effort to reward loyal customers with additional digital benefits and affordable connectivity.

The data giveaway comes at a time when many in South Sudan are increasingly dependent on mobile internet for communication, news, education and business.

Users can activate the offer immediately by entering the code on their phones. The promotion is available nationwide and has been widely shared by MTN across social media platforms, encouraging subscribers to act quickly due to the midnight expiry.

Although the 150MB is modest compared to larger data bundles, it represents a valuable opportunity for South Sudanese users who face some of the highest data costs in the region.

According to recent telecommunications data, South Sudan’s average mobile data cost per gigabyte remains among the highest in East Africa, due to infrastructure challenges and limited competition.

The MTN “Shukran” promotion aims to offer short term relief while boosting customer satisfaction.

At the time of writing, the offer does not involve any fees or hidden charges. No charges are deducted from the user’s balance upon activation.

MTN officials have not announced how long the offer will be available, but they urged customers to check their MTN app or follow MTN South Sudan’s social media channels for updates.
