MTN South Sudan Offers Free Data on Wednesdays

(JUBA) – MTN South Sudan has introduced a weekly promotion offering customers 150MB of free data every Wednesday under a new campaign called “Shukran Ketir”, designed to encourage the use of its MoMo mobile money wallet.

The promotional offer allows MTN customers to receive 150 megabytes of free internet every Wednesday when they recharge a minimum of 200 South Sudanese Pounds (SSP), which is approximately $0.04 at the official July 2025 exchange rate of $1 = 4,600 SSP, using their MoMo wallets.

Once customers complete the minimum recharge, the free data becomes available until midnight on the same day.

The campaign also encourages users to rely more on digital recharges, reducing dependency on scratch cards and promoting mobile money services as a safe and accessible option in both urban and rural areas.

The “Shukran Ketir” offer is expected to continue every Wednesday, although MTN has not yet announced an end date for the promotion. Users are encouraged to check the MTN app or follow MTN South Sudan’s official social media pages for updates.
