(BAKU, AZERBAIJAN) – South Sudan’s Deputy Minister of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, David Yauyau Jankuchi, has joined telecommunication regulators and policy makers from around the world in Baku to discuss global communication development and climate smart technology.
The Deputy Minister travelled with a delegation that includes officials from the National Communication Authority, the Media Authority, civil society groups and the Secretary General of the Universal Service and Access Fund.
The group will represent South Sudan throughout the twelve day World Telecommunication Development Conference.
The meeting brings together global regulators to share ideas and build agreements on the future of digital development.

Speaking after the opening session, Deputy Minister David Yauyau said the gathering was important for South Sudan as it continues to move forward in its digital development.
He explained that the talks would support the country’s efforts to improve communication services, especially in rural areas where access is still limited.
