(TEREKEKA COUNTY) – The Governor of Central Equatoria State Rabi Mujung Emmanuel has officially handed over four grinding mills to Terekeka County authorities in a step aimed at reducing grain processing difficulties in the area.
The delivery took place on Monday in Terekeka. Mujung said the machines had originally been procured during the administration of former governor Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani but had not been delivered to local communities. The mills are now allocated to four payams: Tombek, Reggo, Tindilo and Tali.
Addressing local leaders and residents at the event, the governor said the handover was part of his administration’s commitment to ensuring government promises are fulfilled:
“This delivery should inform you that the promises made by the State leadership will be fulfilled.”
The four grinding mills, each delivered with accessories, are expected to help households reduce the burden of manual grain processing, cut down on post harvest losses, and improve local livelihoods.
According to the state press unit CESGPU, the move is seen as a way of strengthening food security in Terekeka, a county known for its agricultural potential but often faced with challenges in processing and storage.
In a separate gesture, Governor Mujung also presented a generator to St. Mary Primary School in Terekeka. He explained that the donation came in response to a request from the school and would help provide consistent electricity to support better learning conditions for pupils.
The county authorities expressed appreciation for the support, saying the equipment would make a difference in daily life, particularly for rural households and students.
