(TEREKEKA COUNTY) – The Commissioner of Terekeka County, Hon Dr Emmanuel Loku Lodu, met with local chiefs from three Payams on Monday, 12 January 2026, to address issues of theft in the area.
The meeting included cattle camp chiefs, sub-chiefs and head chiefs. Discussions focused on rare but ongoing incidents of stealing within the Payams and their impact on the community, particularly the Mundari people.
A resolution was reached for county authorities, in collaboration with the chiefs, to take action against individuals involved in theft. The plan aims to identify and apprehend those responsible, protect community property and restore the reputation of the Mundari community.
Commissioner Lodu emphasised that tackling theft requires cooperation between local leaders and county officials. He urged chiefs to actively participate in maintaining law and order to end the suffering caused by these incidents.
The County Press Unit said the meeting reflects ongoing efforts by Terekeka County authorities to strengthen community security and reinforce traditional leadership in addressing local challenges.
